The German Sustainability Award Foundation in cooperation with DIHK and the German Council for Sustainable Development presents the Next Economy Award (NEA) to start-ups that focus on sustainability and the green economy.
Our sustainable and social concept convinced the jury. From more than 142 applications, the most sustainable and innovative companies were nominated for the final selection. 9 sustainable start-ups are now in the final round. And we Topfarmers are among them!
What is the Next Economy Award (NEA)?
The NEA honors companies and organizations that provide answers to the social and ecological questions of our time with their growth-oriented ideas. The award is presented annually in various fields of sustainability.
2020 is a special year. Using the crisis as an opportunity and using it for transformation is a great challenge that we are happy to take on. Our aim is to transform the food industry.
We are countering global structures with an uncompromisingly local system and are thus fighting against overfishing of the seas, against food waste and against soil leaching. We have the claim to solve a global food problem. We think in the cycles of nature and combine the breeding of edible fish with the cultivation of vegetables – for the people of today and the world of tomorrow.
Thanks to our closed cycle system, the AquaTerraPonik©, we save more than 80% of land, 80% of water and 85% of CO2 compared to conventional agriculture. We stand for sustainable, resource-saving agriculture. We live Smart Urban Farming right in the heart of Berlin. With AquaTerraPonik© we produce our fresh fish, salads, herbs & vegetables locally and sustainably, following nature’s example and in cycles. Every year we produce 50 tons of African catfish and 30 tons of vegetables, herbs and salads. Sustainable and without drugs, pesticides or chemicals. Learn more about it here:
